This summer, I had the privilege of doing several sets of wedding chalkboards. As it turns out, chalkboard art works as a perfect distraction from being nine months pregnant in July. If you’ve ever been nine months pregnant in July, you know that’s saying a lot!
Katrina, my first summer bride, was extremely organized; she contacted me way back last spring about her big day on July 17. We hit it off right away when we discovered we’re both teachers and she also danced on her high school dance team! I quickly realized her wedding date was three days before my due date and *thankfully* suggested we do the chalkboards pretty far in advance rather than the week-of (a more typical request) just in case Baby Sox decided to crash the party. When I saw Katrina’s beautiful wedding photos pop up in my Facebook feed while I was lounging in my hospital bed, I did a little silent happy dance (don’t wake the baby!)…thank goodness we planned ahead so everything was taken care of with plenty of time to spare!
Taken care of is probably an understatement. Katrina is definitely all about the details and planned a seriously Pinterest-perfect wedding for her and her new husband. I am obsessed with this beautiful photo by Jenny Lynch from Lens of Reflection Photography!
Katrina and Philip, I wish the two of you all the best in your new life together! It looks like you’re off to a wonderful start. Thank you for trusting me to play a small part in one of the most important days of your lives!
