When you encounter a milestone birthday, you can either mourn the loss of your youth…or plan a massive party, invite everyone you know, and just have a total blast!
As I’m sure you can guess by the title, Fortyfest definitely embraced the latter sentiment.
Held in the backyard of a gorgeous Lake Coeur d’Alene home back in August, this party had it all: shuttle service from area hotels to accommodate almost 400 guests, a live band, an entire kids’ play area, its own logo emblazoned on event shirts, cups, and koozies, and TONS of delicious food catered by Tacos El Sol!, Fatburger, and London’s Ultimate Catering. Think this sounds like chaos? Well…amazingly enough, it all seemed to operate ever-so-smoothly, thanks to the flawless coordination by Jaime Johnson Events. With so much happening, Jaime quickly realized a need for signage. Lots and LOTS of signage!
That’s where I came in! I had a ton of fun coming to the site during set-up and creating some signs for the event. When I first realized there wasn’t a single chalkboard in sight, I got a little nervous…but working with markers ended up being a ton of fun! I loved how the white markers turned out on the black foam boards, and black Sharpie on the white signs definitely “popped” against the backdrop of the evening. Also…that house? Come on. Best work environment ever!
Check out just a few of the many signs I whipped out on that lovely August evening (all photos courtesy of Jaime Johnson)!

Anyway, all this talk of friends and fun has me pining for the weekend. We’re almost there, people! What fun things do you have planned?
