I eagerly anticipated tonight’s post (another “Get Fresh” installment about the craft room!) all day…but it seems technology just doesn’t want to let that happen tonight. The photos I took of my painting project won’t upload, and it’s a bit difficult to tell you about a “before and after” sort of situation without “before and after” photos, you know.
When I started this blog last week, I made a commitment to myself that I would write every single day for the first two weeks; as I tell my students, the only way to get better at something is to practice. Why would I let a little glitch ruin my night, or, worse, get in the way of accomplishing my goal?
Like I mentioned before, starting something new always presents a learning curve, and in this moment, I’m feeling the “inexpertise” creeping in.
I’m sure my computer will magically fix itself overnight, or I will find some awesome online help website, or someone will come to my rescue and these little kinks will work themselves out. It’s not that I expect luck or fate. I just know myself well enough to know that, when I really care about something, I just won’t accept failure. Thankfully, unlike the younger version of myself, I don’t feel the need to stay up all night to prove it.
In the meantime, I have a husband who is home from camp, a snuggly beagle ready for some cuddles, and a tummy full of a delicious dinner of Caprese Salad (one of my favorites).
I’m headed to soak up these blessings.
And guess what?
That goal? I’m still on track…because I’m about to hit “Publish.”
